Construction Materials Testing Technician Truro
Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Field Materials Technician with at least 2 years of experience in materials testing to join our team based in Truro. In this role, you will conduct on-site materials testing and analysis for various construction and infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct on-site testing of construction materials (concrete, asphalt, soil, etc.) according to UK industry standards (BS, EN, ASTM).
Perform tests including plate testing, concrete cube making, and more.
Record and evaluate material performance, ensuring compliance with project specifications.
Maintain field-testing equipment.
Troubleshoot equipment issues and ensure testing procedures are not delayed.
Collaborate with site teams to resolve material-related issues.
Required:
Minimum 2 years of field-based experience in materials testing, specifically with a strong focus on materials such as concrete, soil, asphalt, aggregates.
Experience with field testing equipment.
Good communication and problem-solving skills.
Strong commitment to quality and safety.

CTS and our range of independent UKAS accredited laboratories provide on-site testing and laboratory services to the construction, quarry products and civil engineering industries across the whole of the UK.
Our purpose-built laboratories are fully equipped to test the mechanical, physical and chemical properties of soils, aggregates, concrete and bituminous materials as well as other construction materials and products.
Our highly-trained technicians and engineers either visit sites and take representative samples for subsequent laboratory testing, or conduct in-situ field tests.
